According to recent studies, children who participate in daily physical activities are more physically and mentally fit, have better health habits, fewer behavioral problems, and perform better academically in school.  Therefore, it is our belief that all students at Middlefield should balance academics with daily physical education.  As a result of participating in high school Health & Physical Education courses, active children tend to shy away from unhealthy habits such as smoking, alcohol and substance misuse.  Research indicates exercise increases alertness, memory, as well as energy levels in students.  For these reasons, you can only benefit from taking Health & Physical Education courses throughout your high school career at Middlefield.
