Autism Program
This is a non-credit functional life skills program designed for students identified with Autism. Students work towards goals as outlined in their IEP (Individual Education Plan).
DD Program
This is a non-credit program. Students will develop personal life skills in daily living in order to maximize independence both now and in the future. This program also helps to build on the skills needed to move into community based work experience program. Students work towards goals as outlined in their IEP.
Intensive Program
This non-credit program focuses on learning skills, employment skills and personal management skills. This program helps to build skills required to move into credit courses and/or community based work experience program. Integration into regular classes is provided for elective optional courses. Student work towards goals as outlined in their IEP.
Learning Strategies
Grades 9 and 10 (GLE1O and GLE2O)
These courses focus on learning strategies to help students become better, more independent learners. Students will learn how to develop and apply literacy and numeracy skills, personal management skills, interpersonal and teamwork skills to improve achievement in school, the workplace and the community. These courses help student build confidence and motivation to pursue opportunities for success in secondary school and beyond. Literacy skills is an intensive focus in both courses.
Grades 11 and 12 (GLE3O and GLE4O)
These courses improve students’ learning and personal management skills, preparing them to make successful transitions to work, training and/or post-secondary education destinations. Students will access their learning abilities and use literacy, numeracy, research and personal management techniques to maximize their learning. Students will investigate trends and resources to support their post-secondary education choices, employment and/or training and develop and plan to meet their individual goals.
