Notes on Translation
The electronic translation service on the York Region District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
The York Region District School Board does not guarantee the quality, accuracy or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the Board encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and affect any decisions you may make.
The York Region District School Board is committed to parent, family and community engagement, and it is our hope that by providing this tool on our website that we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English and thereby enabling better engagement in public education.

Lending Procedures
- To borrow library materials, students must show some form of identification (e.g., student cards, timetables, Gapps account on a mobile device or TeachAssist accounts). There is a maximum of five (5) items on loan for any given topic.
- The loan period for most library items is 3 weeks.
Printer / Photocopier
Students are given a credit of $3.00 in their print accounts at the beginning of each semester. Printing costs $0.05 per page (double sided is $0.10) for black and white and $0.75 per page (double sided is $1.50) for colour. Students who require additional print credit may refill their print accounts at a coin-operated kiosk in the Library Learning Commons located next to the circulation desk.
Expectations
The following rules and expectations are in place to ensure a quiet, clean and comfortable workspace for students and staff.
- Students may use the Library during lunch, study hall and/or with teacher permission during class.
- Eating is permitted. Please clean up after yourself.
- The individual study carrels (near the window at the back of the library) are reserved for students wishing to study individually and quietly. Please use other desks for collaborative work.
- Please ensure you are using a respectful noise level.
