School Improvement Plan
Silver Pines P.S. is committed to supporting the Board’s literacy focus under the three Board focus areas of Quality Schools, Building Family and Community Capacity and Quality Workplaces.
The following is an outline of our school’s Plan for Continuous Improvement including highlights of some of the strategies to support student achievement.
Curriculum: Achievement in Literacy and Mathematics, and Recognizing Powerful Instruction
· Students will learn within an intentionally planned, engaging and supportive environment.
· Students will have the opportunity to use oral and written feedback throughout the year to
help identify what steps they should take to improve their performance.
· Students will have increased access to a wider variety of resources across the curriculum.
· Students will understand how they are going to be assessed and evaluated, and the
standards they are working toward.
Parental and Community Involvement
· Students will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment both at school and at
home.
· Students will arrive at school on time on a regular basis.
· Students will complete homework assignments on time and to the best of their ability on a
consistent basis.
· Home-school communication promotes student achievement and learning skills.
Effective School
· Students set learning goals in addition to academic goals.
· Students feel safe from verbal and physical bullying and intimidation both in the school and
on the playground.
· Students take responsibility for their own learning to ensure educational opportunities are
maximized.
· Student Improvement and achievement are recognized in many ways.
