September Start Up Package
Each September, schools across York Region District School Board send home a variety of forms for parents/guardians and students covering a wide range of important information. After reading these letters with your child, kindly sign and return the booklet to your child's homeroom teacher.
Student Agenda
The student agenda contains important procedures to be followed at Stornoway Crescent Public School. The agenda also provides an excellent communication tool between school and home. Work and study habits are an important part of becoming an independent lifelong learner. Students learn valuable organizational skills such as recording homework, tests and assignment dates.
We encourage all students in grades one to six to use the agenda on a daily basis. As you help your child to develop homework routines, include an expectation that your child show you his/her agenda on a daily basis.
Board Policies and Procedures
All Board policies and their related procedures, where applicable, are available on our Board public website or in school offices.
We value and promote open dialogue and encourage feedback on policy issues related to the delivery of public education in York Region schools.
To ensure the policies governing the operation of the Board remain current, trustees engage in a four-year cyclical review of all Board policies. This review includes seeking feedback from members of the educational community in an equitable and transparent manner.
All policies available for comment are on the Board’s public website and sent to the Chair(s) of each school council, to be shared with members of the school community. If you feel a policy needs to be revised, please share specific wording changes with related rationale through your school council for submission to the Policy and By-Law Committee for consideration.
