Notes on Translation
The electronic translation service on the York Region District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
The York Region District School Board does not guarantee the quality, accuracy or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the Board encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and affect any decisions you may make.
The York Region District School Board is committed to parent, family and community engagement, and it is our hope that by providing this tool on our website that we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English and thereby enabling better engagement in public education.

Student Expectations
In the spirit of a respectful workplace we support student expectations as outlined below:
You may drink water while working in the Library. The exception to this occurs when you’re working at the computers, where no food and drinks are allowed.
Computers are to be used for school work. Computers should not be used for personal interests, including streaming videos, video games, YouTube and social media.
You may use your personal laptop and electronic device (muted) while working in the Library, but this does not include camera, video chats, and speaking on the phone.
We have designated areas of study—carrels for quiet and individual study; tables and computers where you may chat in a reasonable volume; and the fiction area.
Quality work is difficult to accomplish in a messy workspace. Please help us keep the Library clean by tidying your work area before you leave. Please put garbage in the appropriate containers, recycling whenever possible.
Please feel free to use any item in the maker space areas. We just ask that you kindly return the items neatly, so that others may enjoy them as well.
Your co-operation with these expectations will help us to keep our Library a pleasant place for students to work.
