Geography & Native Studies Department 412
Geography & Native Studies Department

There is so much more to geography than maps. Geography is an integral part of your education, helping you not only to understand the land you inhabit, but also the people who live here with you.

In Grade 9 Geography, you will learn about the country of Canada, its regions and how the land shapes who we are.

In senior level Geography classes, you will see how the regions of the world shape the people around the globe and how we are affecting the earth beneath our feet.

At this time, Native Studies is studied at the senior level.  You will explore and examine political, social, economic, and cultural issues that are relevant to Indigenous peoples both in Canada and in the rest of the world.

Geography and Native Studies courses at Thornlea are an essential preparation for study in natural sciences and the humanities. We will help you understand your world and prepare you for your future.
