Notes on Translation
The electronic translation service on the York Region District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
The York Region District School Board does not guarantee the quality, accuracy or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the Board encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and affect any decisions you may make.
The York Region District School Board is committed to parent, family and community engagement, and it is our hope that by providing this tool on our website that we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English and thereby enabling better engagement in public education.

Dear UMPS Families,
Our staff, supported by families and community partners, is committed to creating a welcoming and caring learning environment where all students can thrive in an environment where their identities are reflected in the school and their learning. In our growing and diverse school community, we are dedicated to ensuring students feel that they matter and belong and to providing effective instruction and assessment that reflects student’s lived experiences, strengths, needs and interests.
In addition to our regular programs, Unionville Meadows PS is fortunate to host two Special Education Community Classes. We value the diverse nature of all our students and continually work towards inclusive and integrated environments.
Unionville Meadows is known as a school of wonderful students who demonstrate respect and concern for others on a daily basis. Not only are we a caring community, but we are a school that continues to provide opportunities for students to develop their skills through extracurricular activities such as team sports, music opportunities, games clubs and a variety of leadership opportunities for our junior and intermediate students.
Much of our success as a school can be attributed to the character and commitment of our community. Unionville Meadows students are known for their sense of optimism, empathy and perseverance; this sets the tone for our entire community.
We look forward to the wonderful teaching and learning that unfolds throughout the year and to working together with our parents/guardians and families to provide a positive learning experience for each child!
Mr. Medina
