Safe and Supportive Schools/Character Education/Equity Education
Every student has the right to learn in a safe and supportive environment. The York Region District School Board has a Safe Schools Policy and a defined procedure to implement the policy. Both the policy and procedure support the view that student discipline involves a continuum of support including prevention, intervention and appropriate consequences.

In addition, Unionville Meadows P.S. supports the development of character education in the York Region District School Board. Each month we practice one of the "Character Matters" traits in our school. We have a "Character Thought for the Day" read on the announcements each day, and reinforce the thought through recognizing positive student behavior each day.  At the end of each month we recognize our "Leaders By Example" at Good News Assemblies.

ANTIRACISM and EQUITY: At Unionville Meadows PS, we embrace antiracism and ethno cultural equity, and are committed to positive and equitable outcomes in all educational programs and services for all our students.  We are committed to preparing our students for a society in which diversity is recognized, respected and valued.  We will, therefore assist students to define, detect and reject all forms of discrimination.
