As with each school in the York Region District School Board, Woodbridge Public School staff supports student learning through the curriculum standards as set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education through instruction and a variety of extra curricular activities.
Our school promotes the following:
  • Literacy and Numeracy skill development for all students JK-8. Staffs are members of Professional Learning Teams and continually attend Professional Development in these areas in order to upgrade and keep their knowledge current.
  • A safe and supportive learning environment.  This is done through the Safe Schools Policy, School Plan for Continuous Improvement, School PRIDE Code of Behaviour, and Performance Plus additional staffing of a Child and Youth Worker, Interface Social Worker, Teacher and Child and Youth Worker shared with other local schools, Guidance and Arts Package and Character Education.
  • Special Education, Reading Recovery, Remediation, Cross-grade Grouping, Booster Groups, Break-out Programmes, Student Support Centres, Later Literacy, Tribes (2004/05 Pilot) and English as a Second Language programs
  • An After School Tutorial program where children are tutored in a variety of subjects. High school and University students act as mentors.   
We are also very proud to offer the following programs to our students and their parents:
  • Arts and Guidance Project (wonderful performances at a reasonable cost)
  • Anti-Bullying, Conflict-resolution and Conflict Mediator Programs
  • Breakfast, hot lunches and after-school snacks
  • Guest speakers, authors and workshops in the area of Literacy
  • F&ST, Families and Schools Together Program
  • Ongoing and informal social skills counseling provided by Child and Youth Workers.
  • Ontario Library Association's Reading Program
  • School and Parent PRIDE certificates for student achievement in Literacy, Numeracy and Character development
  • Student Leadership program
  • Summer Institute Camp during the month of July
  • Interface Thistletown Family Services
  • VIP program for grade 6 students
  • Women as Leaders Symposium
