Welcome
to new and returning Eagles!
I am
incredibly excited to join Aurora High School as Principal this year. As a
member of the Aurora community, I have always known of the fine reputation AHS
has held for academic excellence and positive school culture. Joining the
school during the 50th Anniversary year, I was able to see first-hand the pride
and spirit that has lived within these school walls.
As we
begin to recover from our difficult pandemic years, Aurora High School is
dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where students
can have the opportunity to rejoin a vibrant school community with many sports
teams, clubs, councils and experiential learning events. AHS wasted no time,
with our clubs and teams brimming with events, games and activities. AHS is truly a home for fun and excitement
again, and I know we are all better for it.
Academically,
we know students are eager to return to normal and have also experienced
challenges over the past two years. It is important we are responsive to our
students' needs, and understand that learning recovery looks different for
every student. Every caring adult in the school is here to support our
students’ growth and academic goals. Our Administrative Team, as well as our
Student Services, Guidance and Student Success department are committed to
supporting students in ways that affirm their identities and their experiences.
In education, while aiming for success we must be a team, at AHS we also
believe we are a family!
