Dear Families of
Brownridge Public School:
Welcome to another exciting year at Brownridge
PS! On behalf of the entire BPS community, I
want to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year. I am confident that
whether you are a returning family, or if you are new to the community, that
this school year will be one that is filled with success, personal growth and
the meeting of one’s goals and dreams.
At Brownridge Public School, we are
strongly committed to providing a challenging and engaging learning
environment focused on individualized programming, with the goal of raising student
achievement and well-being. We are strongly committed to ensuring we
have a welcoming, safe and inclusive learning environment for
all. Our deep-rooted commitment to ensuring everyone feels welcomed,
valued, heard, and cared for is the foundation of our decision-making and
programming, and we will continue to work hard to ensure that Brownridge is
always a safe and positive space for learning.
As a staff we are invested in the
success of all learners, and it is our goal to support our students as they
engage in all areas of the Ontario Curriculum as critical thinkers. We believe
that it is important for our students to develop strong critical thinking
skills, with an awareness that this must be paired with effective work habits
and skills such as collaboration, communication and reflection. As a
staff, we place an emphasis on developing the whole-child, and will work with
our learners to foster a growth mindset, an open-minded approach and stance,
and to be respectful of others' ideas and opinions. Our theme for the 2024-2025 school year is “It
Matters”. As a school, we will develop an
understanding that our words and actions matter
and have impact; how we treat others matters,
how we believe in ourselves matters,
and how we approach new experiences and challenges matters. We can do anything as long as we believe in ourselves and
understand that what we do matters.
At Brownridge Public School, we believe in a
strong partnership between home, school and the community. As your partner
in education, I look forward to getting to know each family, so that I can
serve the community in personalized ways. I look forward to working with you throughout
the year and strongly encourage you to contact your children's teachers
or the office should you have any questions or concerns.
As always, I wish you all a safe and successful
school year.
Your proud principal,
Julia Waiser
