Notes on Translation
The electronic translation service on the York Region District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
The York Region District School Board does not guarantee the quality, accuracy or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the Board encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and affect any decisions you may make.
The York Region District School Board is committed to parent, family and community engagement, and it is our hope that by providing this tool on our website that we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English and thereby enabling better engagement in public education.

Blended Learning
|
Page Content Blended learning or the one to one program allows students who attend Dr Denison S.S, to have the opportunity to be part of a school where teachers embed technology in a meaningful, purposeful and educational way. Blended learning combines a multitude of teaching and learning strategies from face to face instruction, teacher led activities, students driven learning and further opportunities for students to choose how they learn best. Students have the unique opportunity to enrich their educational experience through an interactive, hands-on, digital learning initiative, while learning the Ontario curriculum. As part of this initiative, students are asked to provide and bring a device; notebook, tablet or laptop, to their daily classes. Teachers plan classes using technology as a tool to enhance learning in each lesson and to integrate various teaching platforms into our daily routines. Denison strives to prepare all students for a technology rich future, while making all lessons and daily activities relevant to learners in our school.
In order to support all students we have established a Laptop Loaner program. Students can borrow a laptop for the short term by completing a form and gaining approval. Please speak to an administrator for full details. Students who have SEA computers may use these devices as part of the program.
