Advanced Placement (AP) Courses

The York Region District School Board has chosen our school to offer the Advanced Placement Program for students who want to challenge themselves with a more rigorous curriculum.  We invite all students who are willing to accept the challenge of a more demanding academic curriculum to consider enrolment into AP Physics.  Although it is not a mandatory prerequisite taking grade 11 PRE-AP Physics is highly recommended for success in grade 12 AP Physics.

The Advanced Placement Program (AP) is an international course of study written by university professors, which allows students to write standardized exams around the world.  Successful completion of the AP Physics exam in May can earn credits or advanced standing at universities in Canada and abroad.  The biggest incentive for students enrolled in the program, is that they will be well prepared to meet the challenge of university courses.

Contests

Chemistry Contests (written in May, sponsored by University of Waterloo): Avogadro Chemistry Contest (grade 11 chemistry students)

Chem 13 News Contest (grade 12 chemistry students)
