Huron Heights Secondary School.

Registering for school takes a few easy steps. 

If any of the following apply, please visit the Reception Centre​ to register:

•       Students new to Canada (residing in Canada less than 6 months)
•       Students transferring to YRDSB from home schooling in Ontario
•       Students transferring to YRDSB from other boards in Ontario/other provinces with time-sensitive documents, e.g. work permits, refugee claimants
•       Returning students from outside Canada who have been residing  elsewhere  internationally for over one year
  
•       If none of the above apply, please begin on step 1 below

All other students should register as follows:​

STEP 1:

Using our School Locator, enter your current home address to find your “home” school. 

If Huron Heights S.S. is your home school, skip to step 3. 

 

STEP 2:

If you wish to enroll at Huron Heights SS, but we are not your home school, please fill out the appropriate form:

 **** For semester 2 transfers (February 2024), please submit your forms now.  We will contact you once all registration documents have been received to set up an appointment to discuss a possible transfer.****

**** For September 2024 transfers (2024-2025 school year), please submit your transfer form, along with all registration documents no later than January, 2024. ****

     ​1.     Transfer Form​ –  For students who live within YRDSB, but outside of the Huron Heights SS boundaries (e.g.: Denison SS, Mulock SS, Newmarket HS, Keswick HS etc.).  

• ​​Please contact your child's current school's main office to have the transfer form emailed to you​
• email the completed form to huron.heights.ss@yrdsb.ca, along with any other documents listed in step 3

 2.       Permission to Attend Form​ – For students who live outside of YRDSB boundaries(e.g.: Simcoe or Durham board etc.). 

•         ONLY required if DO NOT currently live within the boundaries of the YRDSB (e.g.: Newmarket, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, Aurora)
•         email the completed form to huron.heights.ss@yrdsb.ca, along with any other documents listed in step 3

STEP 3:

Please choose one of the 4 scenarios (A, B, C or D) below and submit those documents which apply to huron.heights.ss@yrdsb.ca

 

A – Grade 8 Student currently attending a YRDSB elementary school

B - Grade 8 Student from a NON-YRDSB elementary school

(i.e.: YCDSB, other school board, private school)

         Secondary School Registration Form

         Grade 9 Course Selection Form​​​​​​​​​

         Your most recent report card or progress report

         Proof of birth date

***Acceptable Documents Include***:

-      Birth Certificate

-      Passport

         Proof of residency

***Acceptable Documents Include ONLY***:

-      Property Tax Bill

-      Rental/Lease Agreement

-      Utility Bill (Gas or Hydro Only)

-      Agreement of Purchase and Sale

 

C - Grade 9-12 from a YRDSB secondary school

         Course Selection Form Grade 10​ - Grade 11 - Grade 12​​​

 

D - Grade 9-12 from a NON-YRDSB secondary school

(i.e.: YCDSB, other school board or private school)

         Secondary School Registration Form

         Course Selection Form Grade 10​​ - Grade 11​ - Grade 12​​​​​​​​

         Credit Counselling Summary / Student Status Sheet from your current school

         Proof of birth date

***Acceptable Documents Include***:

-      Birth Certificate

-      Passport

         Proof of residency

***Acceptable Documents Include ONLY***:

-      Property Tax Bill

-      Rental/Lease Agreement

        You will be invited to a meeting with a vice-principal to finalize your registration (late spring 2023)

 

STEP 4:

• Self-Administration of Medication​

• Epilepsy Seizure Disorder Health Care Plan​
