Students at Langstaff Secondary have the opportunity to earn the Business Certificate Award when they take a minimum of FOUR Business Department credits. Business Certificate Awards are presented at the Graduation ceremony. Employers and post-secondary institutions will recognize that the recipient has successfully completed a concentration of courses in these disciplines. Specialist High School Major (SHSM) - Business

Students who are interested in earning co-operative education credits in Gr.11 or 12 have the opportunity to sign up for SHSM. SHSM provides students with specialized skills and accreditations in their chosen sector. The Business Department offers opportunities through their courses, clubs, field trips and workshops to students registered in SHSM. Many costs associated with Business Department events are covered by the SHSM program. SHSM students receive a “red seal” SHSM diploma upon Graduation and are eligible for the SHSM Graduation Scholarship Award. SHSM is an excellent opportunity for career preparation, and college/university applications.

At Langstaff Secondary, we encourage students to engage in leadership opportunities and offer a broad range of clubs and activities based on student demand.
