It's important to read the guidelines before booking. The Guidance Appointments are temporarily on pause as we work through building the semester 2 timetable.

1. Guidance and Career Education Services
Educational Planning
- Short Term Personal Counselling
- Referrals to community agencies and programs
- In house professional counselling by Family Services of York Region
- Consultation with parents and teachers
- Intervention with students experiencing difficulties

3. Guidance and Career Education Courses:
Grade 9 Skills for Success, GLS1O (1 credit, elective)
Assists students with the transition to high school by equipping them with the skills that they will need to be successful in high school. Study skills, communication skills and team work skills are among the topics covered in this course.
Grade 10 Career Studies, GLC 2O (0.5 credit, compulsory)
Provides students with an opportunity to learn about their skills and interests, to set educational and career goals, to explore different types of work and to prepare for their post secondary destination.
4. Guidance and Career Education Transitions
The Guidance department is responsible for helping students transition from the elementary panel into high school as well as from high school to post secondary destinations. We facilitate a number of Orientation activities for grade 8 students in our Family of Schools as well as Exit Program activities for graduating grade 12 students.
