IB Application Information

Milliken Mills High School will host an IB Information Night on 

Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.



The Application Window for students starting Grade 8 in September 2019 will be open


Friday, October 18, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. and will close on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:59 p.m.


Please be note that we are not able to accept late registrations.



The intake assessment days will be:


Thursday, November 21, 2019 (evening)




Saturday, November 23, 2019 (morning)


(assessment times will be specified in the fall)


Be advised individual test results/standings will not be released. Submitting an application indicates that you understand and will adhere to this policy.




Application Requirements: 

  • ​You live in York Region at the time of application (students apply centrally to their area IB School) YRDSB School Locator 
  • You are a student currently in Grade 8.
  • Complete the online registration process between Friday, October 18th and Thursday, November 7th at midnight
  • Request that a current core teacher complete a Reference Form. You will need to provide an email address for your teacher at the time of application and we will share the reference form on your behalf.
  • Write the admissions assessment at Milliken Mills High School on either Thursday, November 21st or Saturday, November 23rd 
  • Students must provide a COPY of the Grade 7 final report card (This is submitted on the assessment day).
  Students must complete an Admissions Assessment to be considered for placement.   

                                  There is a $35 non-refundable application fee


For the 2019-2020 admissions assessment, students will participate in a collaborative task inspired by IB assessments. It is designed to target cross-curricular critical thinking and problem solving skills. It is our goal that this activity will allow students to demonstrate learning skills and attributes of the IB Learner Profile. (This part of the assessment is not evaluated).

Based on the experience of the collaborative task, students will be asked to respond to a reflective prompt. The admissions assessment is based on an evaluation of the content of the written response.

​We do not recommend any special preparation or study for the assessment.​
