Page Content High Performance Athlete Program (HPA):
What is it?
- It is a credit granting, planned learning experience that integrates classroom theory and practical experience in sport training
- This program enables students to balance their specialized intensive training with academics.
Who is it for?
- Students are eligible for this program in grades 10 – 12 provided that they are presently training at the provincial, national or international level and involved in a minimum of 15 hours of training per week.
- Grade 9 students are only eligible if their training occurs during the school day.
How does it work?
- The HPA is a full-year 2 credit Cooperative Education Program (students earn 1 HPA credit for each semester).
How to Register for this Program?
- Students who are interested in enrolling in the HPA Program are asked to speak to the Head of the Coop Department for more information and specific criteria for acceptance.
