Our School
Rosedale Heights P.S. is situated on the former Atkinson Mills land.

In 1801, Jeremiah Atkinson built the first major sawmill on the Don, west of Yonge Street in Thornhill. A gristmill was constructed in 1802 and gradually, as a result of the mill, an urban settlement began to emerge.

The first proposed name for the school, which was built in 1991, was Atkinson Mills Public School.  After some debate, it was decided to name the school after the street, and Rosedale Heights Public School was born!

Rosedale Heights P.S. officially opened in 1991. A child-care centre, Rosedale North Child Care Centre, owned and operated by Upper Canada Creative Child Care is housed within Rosedale Heights Public School. This child care centre operates completely independently from the school.

Our School Motto is The Future Starts Here!
