The following is an abridged version our School Improvement Plan:
- Curriculum Implementation and Student Learning (Quality Schools)
Focus on literacy: Staff and the school council are working to improve our students literacy skills by supporting literacy initiatives. The staff and school council work together to ensure: - Students receive a balanced literacy program
- Students and parents understand and receive information and assessment feedback to enhance overall performance in language skill development
- Support for our school library and bookrooms
- Effective Schools (Quality Workplaces)
Creating a Positive School Climate: Through consistent reinforcement of high academic and behavioural expectations, we seek to promote a climate of mutual respect and caring. We acknowledge the strengths and contributions of our students at the class and school level. - Students feel safe and secure in the school environment
- Students are recognized for their achievements in affective areas
- Parental and Community Involvement (Building Family and Community Capacity)
Parents as partners: Staff and parents partner to support this component of the school plan to ensure: - Students have the skills and support to complete their homework effectively
- Students have the optimal home environment to successfully complete their homework
- Parents have the skills to support their child's learning at home
