Mr. Coates
Subjects: Grade 11 Entrepreneurship (The Apprentice), Grade 11 Marketing (The Director), Grade 12 Investment Finance (The Broker), Grade 12 Sports & Entertainment Marketing (The Agent)

Mr. Coates is the Westmount C.I. Business Department Head and brings a wealth of experience and professional knowledge to the classroom. He possesses a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from the University of Guelph with a specialization in marketing management. He has successfully completed certifications in the Canadian Securities Course and Financial Planning qualifications, as well as additional qualifications in principal-ship, guidance, business specialization and accounting specialization. Mr. Coates’ goal is to help mold the business leaders of tomorrow at Westmount C.I. and accomplishes this by implementing an interactive business experience for students by mode​ling the department’s classes after popular TV shows, The Apprentice and Dragon’s Den. In addition to his headship, he is the main faculty advisor for DECA and Yearbook.

Mrs. Grigorova
Subjects: ​Grade 9 Introduction to Information and Communication Technology, Grade 10 Computer Science, Grade 11 Computer Programming, Grade 12 Computer Programming

Mrs. Grigorova possesses a prominent background in Engineering and Mathematics. She is a graduate of Varna Technical University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering and Microelectronics with a specialization in Data Acquisition Systems. After obtaining her first degree, she continued in her education by completing a Bachelor of Education at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, along with a specialist qualification in Spec. Ed. Mrs. Grigorova regularly contributes to extra-curricular programming as the advisor for both the Programming and Engineering club. This speaks to her teaching philosophy, which is to motivate students to learn, and in turn, make learning a fun experience.

Mrs. Katyshev
Subjects: Grade 10 Introduction to Business (Dragon's Den), Grade 11 Economics, Grade 12 Economics, Grade 12 Business Leadership 
 

Mrs. Katyshev is the SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major) co-ordinator for the Business program and the Arts & Culture program at Westmount C.I. This specialized program allows  ​students to experience a range of customized, career-focused learning opportunities while working towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Her background includes a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from York University in Business & Society, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto and she is currently pursuing a Master of Education from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. In addition to co-ordinating the SHSM program and her pursuit of higher education, she is a DECA advisor and an assistant coach for Girls’ Varsity Soccer.

Mrs. Rosen
Subjects: Grade 9 Introduction to Information and Communication Technology, Grade 10 Introduction to Business (Dragon's Den)
 
Mrs. Rosen possesses a Bachelor of Commerce from Tam Kang University, along with a Bachelor of Education and Master of Education from the University of Alberta. She is a DECA advisor for the Westmount C.I. DECA Association and believes that bringing real world and relevant experiences into the classroom is paramount, especially in the field of business. In her classroom, students are able to gain both theoretical and practical knowledge that they can apply in their post-secondary studies and future profession(s).

Mr. Wright
Subjects: Grade 12 Business Leadership. Grade 11 and 12 Accounting, Grade 10 Dragon's Den and Grade 9 Introduction to Information and Communication


Mr. Wright holds a Bachelor of Business Management with an Accounting specialization from Ryerson University, as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. In addition to teaching business courses, he has experience teaching History, Geography and English. He enjoys coaching the Varsity Boys Soccer team at Westmount C.I. and as a teacher, his goal is to ensure that students leave his classroom equipped with the soft skills that are necessary in achieving success, in addition to learning the course content.
