Welcome to Our Library

Westmount C.I.'s Learning Resource Centre affords all WCI students an equal opportunity to optimize their potential as literate citizens. Designed to accommodate individuals, as well as small and large groups, it provides the environment, programmes, equipment and resources to stimulate a love of learning, reading and communicating effectively.
Between our tables (with access to a large bank of laptops) and the 40 desktop workstations, our Main Library currently provides seating for 160 users. Additionally, a beautiful Seminar Room, with its own access to a second bank of mobile devices, can comfortably accommodate another 30 persons.

Instruction in information processing (from formulating the thesis statement to the location, evaluation, analysis, synthesis and communication of ideas) is provided both online and as per perceived need. To facilitate student adaptation to the emerging technologies, teacher assistance and a spectrum of tools for textual, graphic and multimedia creation, presentation and viewing are availed on-demand. Our vast web presence contains tutorials, research strategies and pathways, and access to the catalogues of both in-house and remote collections.
New materials and selected fiction groupings are promoted on the website complete with reviews. These include:
Fast Reads
Graphic Novels
Sports Novels
Literary Authors
New Books to the WCI Library Collection
As such, our Learning Resource Centre is very much a vibrant and integral part of our school's learning culture.
