Notes on Translation
The electronic translation service on the York Region District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
The York Region District School Board does not guarantee the quality, accuracy or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the Board encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and affect any decisions you may make.
The York Region District School Board is committed to parent, family and community engagement, and it is our hope that by providing this tool on our website that we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English and thereby enabling better engagement in public education.

Thursday October 19 , 2017 Announcements
- Welcome to Spirit Day in support of LGBTQ youth! If you are a student or a teacher and are wearing PURPLE, please come to the atrium for a picture at 11:30am!
- Students attending the New York Trip, there will be a parents meeting in the library on October 25th. This is a mandatory attendance. Please refer to Google classroom for updates.
- All aspiring broadcasters! Are you interested in joining the Westmount Radio 1 Team? Pick up a form in guidance and drop it off in the designated bin. You will receive an email with the audition date after October 23rd when forms are due. Hope to see you there!
- Anyone who hasn't ordered a yearbook yet, it is not too late! Purchase one on school cash online and never forget your memories made here at Westmount.
- Deca Regional Exams are set to take place on Monday October 30th at 3:30pm here at Westmount. All members are required to write their exam on this day. Over the next two Wednesday meetings, you will be practicing, studying and preparing. Please meet this Wednesday with your category. Listing are found in the Business hallway.
- Junior Boys Basketball tryouts will be held in the gym on Thursday October 19th after school at 3:30pm.
- If you are in grade 12 and plan to graduate, please ensure you have Twitter and you are following @WCIGuidance. If you do not have Twitter, please sign up for a free account. Twitter can be accessed on any smartphone, computer, laptop or tablet. By following @WCIGuidance you will get direct notifications about graduation news, important information and events such as the Graduation Ceremony and PROM. - All grade 12 students need to mark their calendar! Your 1st Graduation Preparation Assembly will take place on Thursday October 26th period 2 in the cafeteria. All grade 12 students need to attend this important assembly which will prepare you for graduation in 9 months from now. If you are following @WCIGuidance on Twitter, you will get notification reminders about this important assembly.
