  • Interim reports are ready for distribution. If you have a second-period spare, please come to pick it up in the main office.

  • Bare Necessities is open for Business! Come down to the store between 8:30 and 8:45 or between 12:40 and 12:55 to load your student card with cash. All proceeds raised go to The Canadian Cancer Society. Over the past 30 seasons, we have raised over $124,000 for this charity. Hoodies, T-shirts, ball hats, swag bags and snacks- we have it all! Come on down and shop!

  • We will be having our first GSA meeting of semester 2 today! Come for beading some rainbow bracelets and a good time! We look forward to seeing you there! Everyone is welcome.

  • The first maternity leave legislation in the country was passed in British Columbia in 1921. Women in the rest of Canada were not allowed mat leave until 1971.

  • Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Hockey team on winning their final tournament of the season.

  • The Best Buddies Club is looking for new members to be buddies of the students in our community class in room 232. You will spend quality time with those students during your lunch or spare and earn volunteer hours. It's a win-win situation! Please drop by room 231 or 232 to leave your contact information.   • March 8th was International Women's Day, and in honour of this, there will be an announcement every day this week with a fact about women in Canada. We will be highlighting a fact about the status of women in Canada or a woman of importance. All facts come from the book "150 Fascinating Facts About Canadian Women", which you can find in the library.
     
    Today we celebrate Rosalie Abella. The daughter of Holocaust survivors, Rosalie Abella was born in a displaced persons camp in Germany. She became the first Jewish woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada. She is credited with creating the term "employment equity".
