Willowbrook Public School is committed to supporting the Trustee, Director and Board improvement plans. Five areas have been identified for focus in these plans; Literacy and Numeracy, Equity, Environment, Engagement and Well-Being.
 
The following is an outline of our School Improvement Plan including highlights of some of the areas of focus to support student achievement.

Plans

Building math communities to improving student attitudes to math, as well as the use of manipulatives and resources to support inquiry across all grades.

We will continue to expand and explore resources and manipulatives and design lessons  that focus on creating independent problem solvers who use math terminology.  We will support our students by increasing our  use of manipulates in-class and design lessons that stimulate an inquiry stance.  We will have an explicit focus on Geometry and Spatial Sense and Measurement for young students; and for our junior and intermediate students, our plan is to continue to work on the Measurement and Geometry and Spatial Sense strands with a focus on to support them in learning, developing and gaining confidence with their understanding and knowldge of numeracy.
