Resources to Prepare Students for Life After High School:

Here you will find resources for supporting your child as they begin researching and/or applying to post-secondary institutions.

Below are two important sites for beginning, continuing, or finalizing your post-secondary research.

1.    Ontario Colleges - research the most updated information on degree, diploma, and certification programs offered by Ontario colleges.

Parent Information Night -- September 26th, 2023 (6:30 - 8:00 pm)

Parent information night is an opportunity for parents/guardians to learn about the resources available at Bur Oak Secondary School and beyond to help students create educational plans. Information about post-secondary options for students and preparation advice can be found in our 2016 Trailblazers presentation.

The format for the evening will be a 45 minute presentation followed by a question and answer The grade 9 and 10 presentation will focus on Understanding High School and navigating through this time period.  The focus for the grade 11 and 12 presentation will be Post-secondary research and planning.

Students as Trailblazers - Designing Your Path:

What can students do if they are interested in art and culture, applied science, manufacturing, health care, etc.? Bur Oak Secondary School has prepared detailed guides to help students plan their path, or trail, after high school and pursue their interests.
