Coledale YMCA - Ages 18 months to 6 years of age

We are located inside Coledale Public school and have been running a Child Care Centre here for over 20 years. We service children 18 months to 6 years of age.

Our hours of operation are 7 am to 6 pm. The ratio for children 18 months to 2.5 is 1-5, for 2.5 years of age – 4 years old the ratio is 1-8, and finally for the Kindergarten Extended day program ages  3.8-6 years old, offered  both AM & PM our ratio is 1- 10. 

Our YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum focuses on small group, play based, inquiry programming provided by qualified educators who engage in play with your child. Throughout the preschool years your child will be learning through developmentally appropriate play experiences that will prepare him/her for school.  YMCA Playing to Learn exemplifies the Principles of the Ontario Framework for Early Learning; Early Learning for Every Child Today.

Our Extended day program includes opportunities to continue learning about the kindergarten topics, exploring indoors and outdoors, creating with the arts(visual, dramatic and music), discovering science, engaging in mathematics and literacy activities, developing social skills, gross and fine motor skills and problem solving.

Pastimes Before and After program hours are 7:00 – 8:55 a.m. / 3:25 – 6:00 p.m.
