Welcome
& Acceptance of Current Agenda (Amanda)
-all were in favour of the agenda

Acceptance
of November 2018 Meeting Minutes (Amanda)
-Chris accepted the minutes and Katherine seconded
the motion
3) Update
From School (Scott/ Vivienne)
-new
custom made flexible seating was purchased for the library
-will
be exploring new tables next
-the
old tables will be repurposed
-looking
to change environment to a more modern learning environment and to make the
space welcoming and more cozy
-winter
concert will be on March 6th in the evening for the primary and some
of the intermediate clubs will be participating
-March
7th will be the winter concert for the kindergartens in the
afternoon
-there
are many trips coming up such as the ski trip (grades 4-8), grade 6 trip at
Wilfrid Laurier University in June (2 nights), grade 8’s going to Ottawa, grade
7’s went to Lake St.George
-trying
to schedule trips around any religious holidays and be accommodating to
students who have their own personal extracurricular activity commitments
-the
skate drive for the grade 1 and 2’s was a success
-there
will be 3 performances coming into the school; recently the school had a
performance from First Nations and it was very educational
-some
of the performances will deal with topics such as mental health, cultural
issues, etc.
-explore
creating teams at the school to build a sense of belonging (there will be 4 to
6 teams)
-the
older students have been welcoming people at the door; the kindergartens will
be participating soon
-lots
of sports tournaments will be happening
-the
movie night was a great success
-there
will be a Me To We Night, possibly in April
-the
new school (Southeast 4) information night will be hosted at CVPS on February
27th
-CVPS
will not be a holding school for the new school (Southeast 5)
-school
would like to implement litter less lunches on Wednesdays
4) Treasurer’s
Report (Kelly)
-spirit
wear made 1460k but the vendor hasn’t been paid
-gingerbread
sales profit is $1171.96
-hot
lunch funds raised was $1550.39
-movie
night raised $801.19 but there is still more cash that needs to be counted
(possibly another $300-$400)
-in
total, the amount raised is approximately $3523.54
5) Committee
Updates:
a) Fundraising
Update
-Cornell-A-Thon will
be held on March 28th
-school will poll the students as to what kind
of ‘A-Thon’ they would like to have and then choose the top three
-discussed looking for
prize donations for the Cornell-A-Thon and the fun fair
-winter movie night
will be on February 20th
-Silent Auction &
Fun Fair will be on June 13th
b) Parent
Engagement
-pro grant funds for $1000 have been
approved
-can use the funds for a math night or
the Me to We Night
c) Healthy
Schools
-winter walk day on
February 6th in the morning; will be giving out hot chocolate and
will
ask people to bring
their own mugs
-discussed possibly
having a walking school bus in different areas to assist with having more
students walk to
school
6) New

-next
meeting will be held on February 25, 2019
