Ms. McQueen
and her students are
very happy about receiving
the Baritone & Tuba for her music program.
Haafid is going
to follow up with the Chris’s on the Movie Licensing payment.

Frozen 2 - March 4th, 2020, School

have a list of vendors. Possible

Parent Engagement – Mental Health
Night – April 16th Stress
& Anxiety, Depression in youth There
will be a speaker for parents Grade 6 and Up.
Vivienne and Haafid are reaching out to Social Workers
to help
with a program for Kindergarten to Grade 5
parents revolving in
Anxiety. During the
night, there will be
a kids program for parents who need to bring
their kids. Possibly
a yoga night followed up with
a body drumming program
at the end of the
night with kids and the parents.

Sustainability – Outdoor classroom
update – Scott let the committee know the long term goal, to lift and level
the Stone closest to the
parking lot, with
possible edging. There will be a chain link fence, same
as around the
kindergarten area to keep kids from
running through the
garden that will be going around the outside of the
stones. And Trees will be
planted on the outside
of the fence. He provided a few quotes, there is
only one company board approved for
fencing. Scott is sending in the
viable quotes through the board
with roughly $10,000-$12,000 for budget.

Update From School (Scott/
Vivienne) –
Almost recovered
all money from the
programs, the programs
are very flexible with the current situation. Global African
Icon
program is Tuesday February 25th.
The School paid for 2 of the 6 arts programs
The sewing
program, had a
lot
of the positive feedback with the inspirational stories, overcoming
obstacles, Ex NFL, coach
Darren Dedrick, conditioning coach for Toronto Argos.
A free Black Student Leadership program
grade 6-8 students, once a week, 10 week program over
lunch, not gender specific.
Jump in
Grade 6 and Grade 8 Grad trip, have not
been cancelled, just on
hold.
Scott was excited
to announce
that the hallways have
now been all freshly painted.
There will also be
air conditioning installed
late June, in the Library and Gym. As
well, the wifi will be upgraded
and HD cameras will
be placed around the
school.
