Nobleton Bus Transportation

Parents/Guardians, it is important to remember your child’s bus number and pick-up/drop-off times. Please help your child learn his/her bus number.

Riding the school bus is a privilege, and we are proud of the responsible way that students behave on the buses. Students are accountable to the principal for their conduct on the buses. If at any time this privilege is abused, the bus transportation provided may be withdrawn for a designated period of time (YRDSB Policy #680.0).

As a general rule, students are counseled and given a verbal warning for the first occurrence of inappropriate behaviour. For a second occurrence, a letter is sent home or a phone call is made to parents, and bus privileges are withdrawn with the third incident of inappropriate behaviour.  Students are expected to observe the following procedures for their safety.

When boarding the bus, students will:

  • keep away from the travelled portion of the road until the bus is stopped and lights are flashing
  • stop, look and listen before they cross the street
  • board the bus in an orderly manner

While on the bus, students are expected to:

  • remember the driver is responsible for their safety
  • respect and follow bus rules
  • remain in their seat while the vehicle is in motion
  • keep the windows closed unless someone is instructed by the bus driver to do otherwise
  • keep all body parts inside the bus, and never put hands, arms, head or legs out of the window
  • talk quietly as noise can distract the driver
  • keep the aisles clear, except when embarking or disembarking
  • understand that the bus driver will report the names of students who endanger the welfare of  others due to inappropriate attitude or behaviour

When leaving the bus, students are expected to:

  • take all their belongings with them
  • leave the bus in an orderly manner

Alternate Busing Arrangements

Students are not permitted to travel on an alternate bus. Students who walk home are not permitted to ride a bus. Parents who wish their child to be dropped off at a different stop:

  • must write a signed and dated request note
  • note is taken to the office along with a note from the other parent at whose stop your child will be going
  • Arrangements must be made prior to the school day
