Opened in 1954,
Stouffville District Secondary School boasts a rich history. It is
amazing to consider that current students are grandchildren to former
Stouffville graduates. This year, we welcome a number of new staff to our
school including our new vice-principal, Ms. Karen Fogleman. A significant
number of our staff reside in Stouffville or the bordering towns. This
local residency of so many staff members brings to the school a personal
investment and interest in our school, our students, our town and our
community.
As a staff, we recognize the importance of teaching the whole student. Their mental health and well-being are equally as important as their academics. We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities including clubs, athletics and various leadership opportunities. For further information, please visit guidance or the main office.
An increase in the
population of Stouffville has brought with it a richness of diversity. As
such, Stouffville District Secondary School operates as primary learning center
for the cultivation of inclusion, equity, wellbeing, unity and the fostering of
a genuine care for each other. At SDSS, we endeavor to ensure that all
students, parents and our community members feel welcome, and that all our
students receive equitable access to everything we have to offer in support of
their high school learning experience. Every Spartan staff and student is
a valued member of our school community.
