Discover the World Past and Present
The History and Social Science department at Unionville High School is dedicated to providing students with learning experiences that span humanity’s development. We seek to provide students with creative learning environments that expose learners to the diverse experiences of humankind. Students will expand and strengthen their ability to analyze evidence, develop research skills, use various forms of communication, and assess different viewpoints to better understand our world. Through these courses, students will become critically thoughtful and informed citizens who value an inclusive society, build the skills they need to solve problems, and communicate ideas and decisions about significant developments, events and issues. The department infuses equity, anti-racism, empathy, community and critical thought across the curricula in order to cultivate social responsibility in an increasingly complex world.
