The health and physical education curriculum at Unionville High School provides opportunities for students to be active and develop an understanding of the importance of wellness and lifelong physical activity. H&PE students develop:
- skills and knowledge they require to participate in physical activities at school, outside of the school setting and throughout their lives
- a personal commitment to daily vigorous physical activity and positive health behaviours
- an understanding of the importance of physical fitness, good health and the factors that contribute to them
The health and physical education curriculum provides students with learning opportunities that will help them make positive decisions about all aspects of their health and encourage them to lead healthy, active lives. Expectations concentrate on the development of personal fitness, competence, skills, attitudes, and knowledge that will help students deal with the variety of personal and social demands in their lives. This practical, balanced approach will help students move successfully beyond secondary school. Physical & Health Education Office: (905) 479-2787 ext. 111
