History
Named after the village of Woodbridge, Woodbridge High School opened in 1958. By 1991, the enrolment of the school had declined to 200 students. Woodbridge High School closed in June of 1991 and reopened in September of that year as Woodbridge College. The College was designed to be an academy school, providing an alternative to grade 7-OAC students across York Region. Students at Woodbridge College wore a school uniform, signed a letter of commitment when enrolled, and took a prescribed curriculum including physical education up until grade 12 and French up until grade 11. As Secondary School Reform changed curriculum requirements and extensive housing starts in the community increased the local high school student population, Woodbridge College ceased to be an alternative school, returning to being a neighbourhood school, serving students in grades 9-12 and offering the same curricular programming as other schools in the province.
Our school motto is Excellence through Commitment.
Our school mascot is the Wyvern.
