Future Careers

There are students that have graduated in our Personalized Alternative Education Program that are teachers, accountants, mechanics, business owners and clerks.  There is no one pathway that works for everyone.  The Colleges and Universities are now paired up throughout Ontario to facilitate joint programs that allow students to start in college and finish in University with both a diploma and a career.

On the OYAP site they discuss the process of getting certified and future prospects for those students choosing trades.  We have a dramatic shortage of skilled workers.  The OYAP program has a number of incentives and opportunities to encourage students to consider those options.

In technology there is a constant shortage of computer programmers and computer technicians.  On the topic of technicians, there is a large demand in the Power Sector for those that can service and work with electrical and related circuitry.

The twenty-first Century learner and workplace require an ability to adapt and change due to the nature and number of computer based industries.  This means being a life-long learner is a necessity for survival.

Careers moving forward will be changing and evolving.  In Personalized Alternative Education we promote an indepent learner, who takes initiative and responsibility for their own learning, and that is a very desirable characteristic in the workplace.  An independent learner who can solve problems.  That is the ultimate goal and we strive to create that outcome daily.
