Welcome to Bayview Secondary School's Guidance Department Webpage

We offer counselling in a friendly, non-judgmental environment, in the following areas:

Academic Counselling

Students can talk to a counsellor regarding their course selection options, problems with a course, extra help or any other academic issue.

Career Counselling

Guidance counsellors help students understand the pathways to the many career options available, including questions about which courses are needed in high school for a particular career, other (non-academic) entrance requirements, such as portfolios, supplementary application forms and requirements for apprenticeship programs.

Personal Counselling

Guidance counsellors are always available when students need to talk about personal issues that they need help with, in a warm, non-judgmental and confidential environment.

Guidance Appointments & Semester 2 Request for Course Changes

Guidance will not be available for walk ins on Feb 1 and 2. There are no Guidance appointments the first 2 weeks of semester 2. If you booked ahead, they have been cancelled.

Starting February 5 the google form for course changes will be open - here is the link. It closes February 9 at 3pm. If you are already on the waitlist do not fill out the google form. Seats in courses are very limited and we have been open since October for changes.

You must remain in your course as there is no guarantee of a timetable change.

Appointments (after Feb 16/24):

Please use TeachAssist to book an appointment with your counsellor. Review the alpha list above to find your counsellor. If your counsellor is full for a day, please book for the following day.  Do not book with another counsellor. There are no same-day bookings.  Please change the calendar to the next school day to see available appointments.
