Welcome to Bayview Secondary School's Guidance Department Webpage

We offer counselling in a friendly, non-judgmental environment, in the following areas:

Academic Counselling

Students can talk to a counsellor regarding their course selection options, problems with a course, extra help or any other academic issue.

Career Counselling

Guidance counsellors help students understand the pathways to the many career options available, including questions about which courses are needed in high school for a particular career, other (non-academic) entrance requirements, such as portfolios, supplementary application forms and requirements for apprenticeship programs.

Personal Counselling

Guidance counsellors are always available when students need to talk about personal issues that they need help with, in a warm, non-judgmental and confidential environment.

Guidance Appointments & Semester 1 Request for Course Changes

Guidance will not be available for appointments the first few weeks of semester 1 as we work through timetable change requests.  We will let you know through your gapps email and announcements when appointments will become available.

The timetable/course change request form will open Tues. September 3rd at 8 am and will close Wed. Sept 11th at 3:25 pm.  There is limited space in courses and there is NO guarantee the request can be granted.  Students must be sgined into their GAPPS account to complete the form.  One form/request per student so ensure you complete the form correctly.  In order to ensure fairness and equity, Guidance counsellors and the Guidance secretary will be unable to respond or address timetable concerns via emails, phone/voicemails or walk ins. Please follow the timetable change request instructions you received in your email.

https://forms.gle/3z7JSktaVyY9hJZ36

Students will be spoken to about the course change request so they can address other issues when a counsellor speaks with them.

Appointments (TBD later in September):

Please use TeachAssist to book an appointment with your counsellor. Review the alpha list above to find your counsellor. If your counsellor is full for a day, please book for the following day.  Do not book with another counsellor. There are no same-day bookings.  Please change the calendar to the next school day to see available appointments.
