Notes on Translation
The electronic translation service on the York Region District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
The York Region District School Board does not guarantee the quality, accuracy or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the Board encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and affect any decisions you may make.
The York Region District School Board is committed to parent, family and community engagement, and it is our hope that by providing this tool on our website that we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English and thereby enabling better engagement in public education.

Each year in October, we are happy to meet interested students and parents at our annual IB Information Evening. We are pleased to announce that in October 2024 we will be hosting an in-person session for students, parents and guardians who live within Bayview's IB boundaries to join us to learn more about our school and the IB Programme.
We invite Grade 8 students interested in applying to begin Grade 9 in September 2025 to join us at the information evening at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
2023-2024 Application Requirements for Bayview Secondary's IB Programme
Registration Notes:
The York Region District School Board IB Programme application is completed centrally for all York Region IB Schools through the EDSBY platform. The central application is for offerings at Alexander Mackenzie High School, Bayview Secondary School, Dr. G.W. Williams Secondary School, Maple High School and Milliken Mills High School.
During the application process, the YRDSB IB School serving your home address will be identified. Regrettably, we are not able to consider applicants who live outside of Bayview's IB boundaries.
Please be sure to complete the application during the application window. The window will open, 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11 and will close at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4.
We are not able to accept late applications.
We do not recommend any special preparation or study for the admissions assessment.
Be advised individual results/standings will not be released. Submitting an application indicates that you understand and will adhere to this policy.
