Registration

The York Region District School Board IB Programme application is completed centrally for all York Region IB Schools. The central application is for offerings at Alexander Mackenzie High School, Bayview Secondary School, Dr. G.W. Williams Secondary School, Maple High School and Milliken Mills High School.

During the application process, the YRDSB IB School serving your home address will be identified.
Regrettably, we are not able to consider applicants who live outside of Bayview's IB boundaries.

The Admissions Assessment

Students must complete an Admissions Assessment to be considered for placement.

For the 2019-2020 admissions assement students will participate in a collaborative task inspired by IB assessments. It is designed to target cross-curricular critical thinking and problem solving skills. It is our goal that this activity will allow students to demonstrate learning skills and attributes of the IB Learner Profile. (This part of the assessment is not evaluated).

Based on the experience of the collaborative task, students will be asked to respond to a reflective prompt. The admissions assessment is based on an evaluation of the content of the written response.

We do not recommend any special preparation or study for the assessment.

Be advised individual test results/standings will not be released. Submitting an application indicates that you understand and will adhere to this policy.
