Important Transportation Notice for Hodan Nalayeh Secondary School Students
The York Region District School Board (YRDSB) remains committed to ensure all students receive transportation service in accordance with Board Policy. The YRDSB Transportation Policy #680 was revised in 2006 and now indicates the following:
Grade 9 – 12 students living in an area where public transit is available, are not eligible for Board-provided transportation.
This replaces the old policy that indicated transportation would be provided to students living further than 4.8km’s from school.
As a result of this change in Board Policy, all Hodan Nalayeh Secondary School students who are currently eligible for regular transportation will no longer receive service as routes 377, 903, 926, 964, 5126, 5129 and 5177 will be discontinued at the conclusion of the school year in June 2007.
Please note that this does not pertain to special needs students requiring specialized transportation.
