After School Literacy Course
Posted: 1/22/2020 2:06:30 PM

Keswick High School is offering an After School Literacy Course to build upon the reading and writing skills of students.  This course can also support students in their preparation for the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), which is a graduation requirement for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). This course is voluntary, and is not credit bearing towards the OSSD.

Please consider this opportunity if you feel your child would benefit from additional instruction in building their reading and writing skills.

This After School program consists of ten 90 minute sessions.  Students will attend twice a week for five weeks to receive intensive practice with reading and writing skills and strategies. Your child will need to attend all sessions to get the full benefit from this program. At the end of the session, each student will complete a checklist of strengths and needs.

Students in grades 9-12 may register for this course, however priority will be given to students writing the OSSLT this year if limited space is an issue.

The course will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from February 11 to March 12, 2020. Classes will run from 3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at Keswick High School.

Print off the attached registration form and return it to the attendance office to enroll in the course. Additional copies are also available from the attendance office and the main office. For more information, please contact Ms. Agawa.
