Principal's Message

Welcome to Keswick High School! It is with great anticipation that we begin the 2022-2023 school year. Our school focus continues to be the well-being, learning and success of all of our students. In particular, I believe it is important that we continue to advance our work to remove barriers, level proverbial playing fields and improve equitable outcomes for all students and staff using anti-oppressive practices.

At Keswick High School, we have developed the following three focus statements to guide our work and learning this year:
  1. We are braver than we believe, stronger than we seem and smarter than we think.  (Adapted from A.A. Milne)
  2. We are critical thinkers who stand up for our rights while carrying our responsibilities.
  3. We succeed in inclusive spaces where our voices and lived experiences are valued and leveraged.

These statements are crafted to demonstrate our commitments to equity and inclusivity for the entire school community,  our collective well-being, our social, emotional and academic success and fulfilling the promises held within our potential.  We strive to provide opportunities for success through transparent and effective assessment practices, differentiated instruction, and  innovative programs that are structured around experiential learning and authentic tasks for our learners. We will continue to advance our work to remove barriers, level proverbial playing fields and improve equitable outcomes for all students and staff using anti-oppressive practices. We recognize the importance of strong school spirit and embracing our inner ‘Cougars’. Our school mascot is KC the Cougar.

I look forward to an exciting year of learning and growth at Keswick High School as we welcome Grade 9 students, our future 2026 Graduates,  as well as continue to support all students including all Grade 12 students, the graduating Class of 2023! May this year be filled with epiphanies, discoveries, celebrations, and moments of reflection to support a harmonious pathway forward.
