The focus of the Guidance and Career Education program at Keswick High School is to help each student successfully complete high school, and realize their full potential, by setting goals that lead to an appropriate post-secondary pathway in the world of work, apprenticeship, college or university. The program is delivered through classroom instruction, seminars, field trips, guest speakers and individual academic and career counselling. Guidance counsellors also provide students with short-term personal counselling and referrals to community agencies, help with problem-solving skills to deal with personal or school-related issues, assistance with course selection, and information on how to earn the required 40 hours of community involvement activities.
Guidance counsellors are assigned by alphabet (alpha) and appointments may be arranged in the Guidance office (located beside the main office)or by following the instructions below:
Log into your Teach Assist account
  1. Under the sub-heading, select “Appointment Bookings”.
  2. Choose your counsellor (based on your last name).
  3. Click on the day and time you want to have your appointment.

If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason, click “Cancel”.  If you have any trouble making your appointment, please let the Guidance Department know.

The course selection submission window opens up Thursday, February 16th. The deadline to submit your courses through My Pathway Planner is Friday, February 24th at 4pm. Students and families are reminded that course and post-secondary pathways are changeable and flexible. Students may choose all of the same course pathways or a combination. Should you have questions regarding pathways, it is recommended that you gather information from subject teachers, guidance counsellors, special education resource teachers and researching post-secondary pathways.
