Principal's Message

Hello MMHS,

I’d like to welcome everyone back from the Winter Break and wish everyone a happy new year.

The changing of the calendar is the perfect opportunity for us to reflect on what we have learned and accomplished over the past year.  It is also an occasion for us to resolve to make wiser choices, develop better habits, or improve our community.  Whether through a resolution or through a renewed sense of optimism, I’d like to ask everyone to put their best foot forward.

As you know, the provincial government has ordered high schools to be closed from January 4 to 22.  During this time, instruction will be a little different – both cohorts will attend their morning classes virtually every day.  Afternoon classes will proceed online as per the schedule.

In January, classes are finishing up their final units and conducting final evaluations.  This is the time to make sure you have completed and submitted all of your assignments and to reach out to your teachers for extra help.  Approach the end of the semester, the new year, and any challenges you face by maintaining a positive attitude, staying focused on completing your course work, helping to keep everyone and yourself safe, and always doing your best.

Remember, Milliken, with determination, effort and a positive attitude, 2021 can be a great year.
