Dear Visitors to Bayview Secondary School:

Bayview Secondary School prides itself on a rich history steeped in culture which reflects student success, achievement and wellbeing and aligns with our school motto, "friends learning together".
Bayview Secondary School is named after the street that it is located on, Bayview Avenue on a fifteen-acre site formerly a part of the Elliot farm. Classes commenced on November 14, 1960. Originally the school was built to support the rural and urban students living in and around the town of Richmond Hill.  Additions were placed on the original school in 1962, 1965 and 2006 and ongoing renovations to facilitate delivery program have complimented an outdoor improvement plan known as "Beautifying Bayview".   Our grounds contain an outdoor classroom, basketball court, sport fields and a range of trees planted by the students.

Currently, Bayview Secondary School serves a diverse community and offers programming opportunities to meet the needs and aspirations of all of our students.  Our English Language Learner program supports 20% of our students with the Special Education Department providing additional guidance to over 300 students.  The Special Education students have a range of services which may include; participation in Learning Strategies courses, monitoring by their Special Education Resource Teacher or integrated through the Community Autism and the Grade 9 and 10 ASD Programs.  Bayview hosts a variety of regional programs such as; Alternative Education Senior Intensive, Special High Skills Major (Bayview School of Business) and the International Baccalaureate Program.
