Notes on Translation
The electronic translation service on the York Region District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
The York Region District School Board does not guarantee the quality, accuracy or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the Board encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and affect any decisions you may make.
The York Region District School Board is committed to parent, family and community engagement, and it is our hope that by providing this tool on our website that we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English and thereby enabling better engagement in public education.

Theatre isn’t just about acting. Theatre students at Arts Huron learn to do it all. Over the course of their 4 Drama Foundations and 4 Production courses, Arts Huron Theatre students will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of dramatic forms, including traditional acting, improvisation, puppetry, mask work, creative movement and other styles; they will take on a variety of roles, such as play deviser, actor, playwright, director, stage manager, designer, technician, publicity, producer; and they will have access to field trips to live performances and festivals, workshops with working Canadian artists, and other special events tailored to their needs and interests. Arts Huron Theatre students leave our program with a breadth of practical skills and theoretical and critical knowledge that allows them to pursue Theatre studies at the post-secondary level, or any other discipline they choose, as all of the skills we practice - collaboration, problem-solving, creative thinking, project management and others - are applicable to all fields of study and work. Our students have gone on to jobs in the arts such as actors, playwrights, stage managers, touring technicians, house and publicity managers and more.
