Concert Band

The Concert Band involves students in grades 9-12 in the Music Repertoire class (course codes starting with AMR).  This band performs in concerts, music festivals, and other school events during the school year. This band plays a variety of musical styles every year: everything from Bohemian Rhapsody to Beethoven!

Jazz Band

The Jazz Band is open to students in grades 9-12. Music styles performed by this group include funk, swing, latin, soul, blues and more. Students are encouraged to learn to improvise in this ensemble. Instrumentation includes saxophones, trumpets, trombones, guitar, piano, bass and drums. This band is extra-curricular and performs in music department concerts, music festivals, school events and in the community.

Rock Band

The Rock Band is a new ensemble. It is open to students in grades 9-12. This band is extra-curricular and will have its first performance at our spring concert in May 2020.


The Choir is the vocal group at KHS, involving  students in Grades 9-12 in the Vocal Music class.  Singing a variety of repertoire from pop music to classical, this group performs in music department concerts and other school events.

Guitar Ensemble 

T​he Guitar Ensemble involves guitar students in the Grade 10, 11 and 12 guitar classes.  This group rehearses rock, classical and other music in a large ensemble for music department concerts and coffee house performances.

Small Ensembles/Drumline 

During instrumental music classes or in Concert Band rehearsals, students are divided into small groups to work on repertoire for performance at music department concerts, in music festivals, and at events throughout the community.
