WHAT IS SHSM?
Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) let students focus on a career path that matches their skills and interests while meeting the requirements of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
SHSM is a ministry-approved specialized program that allows students to focus their learning on a specific economic sector and also assists in their transition after graduation to apprenticeship training, college, university or the workplace.

The Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) Program
Not all students learn in the same way. The Ontario Ministry of Education recognized this in 2003, faced with a high drop-out rate and stagnant student achievement results. The system was working well for students entering university but other students were left feeling uninspired, under-valued and under-served. The Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) program is the result of rethinking how education is delivered. The SHSM is a pathways program that helps students customize their education to suit their interests and needs by focusing their learning on a particular economic sector and a potential future career. The SHSM has become a signature initiative in Ontario's education system that has contributed to its success in raising the provincial graduation rate from 68% to 83% since 2003.

Do you want to work backstage? Do you love theatre? Do you want to work with energetic people? Then Theatrics is the club for you!
At Theatrics you'll get to see how live theatre events are built from the ground up. You'll build a variety of skills - from mananging technology to communicating silently in the dark with specific hand signals. You'll meet preformers at their most crucial moments and learn about the people who make theatre run.
We're responsible for organizing Caberet, Trudeau's Annual Talent Show! We hope to see new members next year!
