In addition to the mental health supports below, that were shared earlier, please be aware of the YRDSB’s COVID-19 Community Resources for Behaviour, Mental Health and Financial Supports.  The information on the attached webpage has been curated by YRDSB staff to support York Region families.


MOBYSS​ is Ontario’s first mobile walk-in clinic for youth that provides primary care and mental health care to individuals between the ages of 12-25. Our services are completely free of charge, anonymous, and do not require a health card. The MOBYSS team is comprised of a Nurse Practitioner, Youth Mental Health Worker, and Peer Support Specialist.

Family Services York Region

Offering counselling for families and individuals via telephone or video conferencing.

·          Currently accepting new referrals for telephone and video counselling

·          Newmarket: 905-895-2371

·          Provides services on a sliding scale. A fee may be required.

·          2SLGBTQ+  Counselling and Consultation available

York Hills

Offering a range of mental health services to children up to the age of 18 and their families.

Telephone ‘walk-in style’ counselling available for youth.  Students may call and be connected to a therapist.

Substance Misuse Resources:

  • Association of Parent Support Groups in Ontario, 1-800-488-5666
  • Provides ho​pe, encouragement and parenting strategies to help support parents of acting-out youth
  • Learn to help yourself and your child​

  • Addiction Services for York Region, 1-800-263-2288. (Intake - 905-841-7007 ext 322)
  • Offers a holistic and harm reduction approach to addiction treatments by providing counselling programs for youth and their families
  • Access to counselling for parents on a one on one basis
  • Offers a parents-group program as an eight-week session meeting with others about their youth’s substance abuse or dependence issues
  • Outreach is available at NHS for students

  • Provides innovative, evidence-based programs and resources
  • Gives parents and other caregivers a quick, accessible route to the issues involved in guiding their youth to healthier, safer decisions via the Parent Action Pack​​

  • ​Provides public health information, effective strategies and resources for parents to prevent or delay underage drinking and drug use​​
